Dec. 1-3 - Wolf Calls and Pig Tales by Rebecca Bennie and Deb Holloway
12/1/2009
Lipscomb University’s Theater Department presents Wolf Calls and Pig Tales, a re-telling of the Three Little Pigs nursery rhyme, Dec. 1-3, in Collins Alumni Auditorium on the Lipscomb campus, One University Park Drive.
Show times are 4 p.m. on Dec. 1 (immediately before Lipscomb’s annual outdoor concert and festival, Lighting of the Green), 10 a.m. on Dec. 2, and 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Dec. 3. Cost is $5 per person.
Wolf Calls and Pig Tales features a smorgasbord of animal costumes, non-stop action, and clever musical bits that illustrate there are two sides to every story. This 45-minute adaption was written by Lipscomb junior Rebecca Bennie and Lipscomb instructor Deb Holloway.
Holloway has staged children’s plays that tour various local schools, hospitals and day care centers in Nashville for years. This is the second original children’s play she has produced for Lipscomb. Her first play, Kevin the Celt, co-written with Lipscomb students, was presented on a mission tour to Wales this past year.
After the Dec. 1 show families can head over to the Allen Arena mall where Lighting of the Green offers free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, complimentary hot chocolate and cookies, and a free outdoor holiday concert featuring Amy Grant, former Gaither Vocal Band member Guy Penrod and other local musical guests.
For tickets call 966.7111 or for more information call Deb Holloway at 966-5728.
