Nov. 30 - Faculty & Friends Concert Series: Samuel Cook & Cheryl Lemmons

Lipscomb University's Faculty & Friends Concert Series presents Samuel Cook, tenor, and Cheryl Lemmons, accompanist, at 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, in Ward Hall. This event is free and open to the public.

This performance will feature songs by Liszt and Strauss, as well as Negro spirituals.

Cook is a Metropolitan Opera national winner and first place recipient at Francisco Vinas International voice competition in Barcelona, Spain. He is the associate professor of voice and opera director at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. He has performed throughout the United States, South Africa and Europe.

Cook is a graduate of Peabody Music Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University and Indiana University. He continued his vocal training with the world famous tenor, Carlo Bergonzi, and soprano, Renata Tebaldi, in Busetto, Italy.

Lemmons is a staff accompanist at Abilene Christian University. She is also on the faculty of the Lutheran Summer Music Academy and Festival. Lemmons worked with the Abilene Opera Association and accompanied several ACU productions. Lemmons is a graduate of Abilene Christian University and Hardin-Simmons University.
